We celebrated Father’s Day this year at a new place off the beaten path. The Grill Room, located in Clearbrook Country Club, turned out to be a great choice! For starters, they offer a HUGE wine selection, over 240 different bottles! I chose the Sonoma Chardonnay which paired well with the seafood I intended to order!
We had a large party of 11, so we collectively shared 4 appetizers from their summer menu: Smoked Salmon Flatbread, 2 orders of Spring Rolls and a Charcuterie Board. My husband and my favorite was the charcuterie board, which offered beef tartar, stone ground mustard, goat cheese, and some delish smashed black olives. Chicken liver pate comes with this board, although we did not partake.
Our daughter ordered the soup, salad and bread option which was a perfect choice for a light meal or someone with a smaller appetite. The soups are made fresh daily, and she got the ham and potato soup which she really enjoyed. The salad was served family style and bottomless, which was a nice touch!
My husband got the white fish on a plank with a vegetable medley. This is a standard on their menu, and it had been recommended to us from a local we met in town. It’s another light option, but it still satisfied my husbands appetite!
I opted for one of the specials, Scallops with a jalapeño potato chip crust served over zoodles (zucchini noodles). We make them often at home since we don’t each much pasta. If you have never tried them, I highly recommend it! You can pick up a vegetable spiraled like this_________________________ on Amazon. It is cheap and easy to use!
